Central Hospital

You walked down the halls of central hospital with 1st lieutenant Riza Hawkeye, her expression as serious as ever maybe even morose but you couldn't tell.
"Sir." A few soldiers in the hall saluted to you and Riza both, that little gesture swelled you up with pride if not for the current situation, you'd be grinning from ear to ear.
"(Name), its okay to pat yourself on the back every now and then." The blonde noted as you both rounded the corner.
"I feel selfish though, I'm not celebrating until I drain the life out of whoever killed Hughes." Riza flashed you a sympathetic look.

It was rather remarkable for someone your age though, only being in the military for 7 months you became a state alchemist, a formidable one at that, this technically meant you were a Major. The amount of respect you received from your fellow soldiers was almost worth the amount of paperwork you had to deal with. Yes, you were an alchemist, just like your older brother Roy, and by older, I mean much older, there was a huge age gap between you more than a decade apart to be exact. At times however, you were more of an adult than he was, but you still loved him despite that.

You were stationed at central just shy of a month ago and a week after you were stationed news spread that Havoc and Roy fought a homoculus named Lust and it critically injured them both but Roy managed to finish the beast off. That didn't mean you still didn't worry about him though, according to the Lieutenant, he was still in pretty rough shape. He was anxious to leave the confines of the hospital and return to his post, you couldn't blame him though, anyone would go mad in this depressing place if they had to stay more than week here.

"Remember to keep your voice down." Riza reminded as the two of you neared the room,
"I know." You stated when you two finally stopped in front of the door, she shot you a half-hearted glare at the attitude before opening the door. Ironically enough the first thing you hear is Roy and Havoc arguing about who knows what, and the both of you girls simply sighed out. After a good minute or two, Roy and Jean turned their heads in your direction,
"Took you two long enough to notice." You stated, tapping your foot impatiently on the floor.
"(Name). What are you doing here in Central aren't stationed in the Eastern quarters?" Roy asked, brows shooting up at your surprise appearance.      "I got transferred here to Central last month." You explained rather casually, his face betrayed the disbelief but he continued to inquire away.

He shifted on his bed, wincing whenever he turned the wrong way,
"And why's that?" He managed to get out as his expression twisted.
"This is why." You quickly shoved your hand in your pocket, once you got a hold of the watch a victorious grin spread across face while you proudly showed the hunk of silver that he was all too familiar. Of course, you knew he would be mad, before you even enlisted in the military, he warned you how dangerous it would be to become an alchemist in this day and age. You didn't heed his words, he knew you didn't being how damn stubborn you were, both of you were more alike than you cared to admit.

Roy gritted his teeth his eyebrows knitted he was about to snap at any given moment,
"I didn't want you to even join the military in the first and now you go behind my back to become a state alchemist?!" His voice rose with every word,  you gritted your teeth, for him to have the audacity to act the victim.
"Like you're one to talk!" Roy clutched the sheets on his bed, tearing them in the process,
"Did you only do this to get under my skin when I'm at my worst? I swear sometimes your sole purpose is to just spite me! Or maybe your're just an idiot, why did you have to go and throw your life away like that?!" He lifted himself up a bit to fully face you, now you could see the full extent of his rage.

"YOU'RE STILL A CHILD! KNOW YOUR PLACE!" Your blood was boiling now and you stomped over to his bed, both of you were just time bombs.
"I could ask you the same damn question Roy?!" You hissed out, leaning down so you were at eye level, "Why in the hell did you join the military? WHY did you go and become a state alchemist? Riddle me that you fucking hypocrite." Venom laced every word
AND I'M SURE AS HELL AIN'T THE CHILD IN THIS SITUATION!" You pointed an accusing finger at him as you rendered him into silence,
"YOUR THE DAMN CHILD ROY! NOW GROW THE FUCK UP AND GROW A PAIR YOU DUMB BASTARD!" This was yelled mere inches from his face, his eyes widen at your statement, the words you spat hit home and you meant every single one of them.

What shocked him the most was the fact hot tears were pouring down your face nonstop, you let out a sniffle, wiping off the stray tears.
"(Name)." You moved from his grasp, stuffing the watch back in your jacket,
"Whether you approve or not, I'm a woman of this country's military and a state alchemist. And you know what Roy? I'm proud of it." You proclaimed your voice now hoarse. Turning on your heels, you attempted to walk out of the room, Riza then grabbed your wrist, silently pleading for you to stay.
"No, I'm sorry." And without another word you brushed the elder woman off and left the room, nearly breaking the door from it's hinges.

Roy just then realized what he had said, it was like he was yelling at himself in the mirror, he should've just stated simply that he didn't want {Name} to follow in his footsteps and mess up her life, not when there was so much potential.
"Damnit..." He placed his hands over his dry eyes as he started shaking violently "Damnit, damnit, DAMNIT!"he slammed his right hand on the railing of the bed, with the anger now subsided the pain in his side returned and he instantly curled up on his bed.
"Havoc, Hawkeye what the hell did I just do?" Roy mumbled to the other two other two souls in the room.

__

"Excuse me." You snapped to the two brothers as you accidentally bumped shoulders with the shorter one.
"Do you who that girl is?" Alphonse asked, looking down at the blonde, Edward looked back at the girl "I don't know." he mumbled, staring at her a lot longer than what he should've.
"She kind of looked like the colonel" Alphonse noted,
"Yeah, she kind of did, weird." Little did Ed know that girl was going to be the sister of the future fuher, and the love of his life.
Update (Nov. 2017)
So I was scrolling through some ancient texts on my profile and I decided to continue on with this story as it is my most popular work on here. I'm obviously revising the already written chapters to make things somewhat more legible.
Hopefully this is better than horrible ass 2013 work.
